The unholy lust of scientists

So much of what is called 'truth' via the scientific method is actually statistical data. Liars figure, and figures lie. And 'peer review' of journal articles is not immune to peer pressure, both to approve and reject submitted research.

Even worse is when "studies" are reported in the mainstream press by reporters who have obviously not read the report in question. The first obvious sign is when they don't even indicate whether or not it is primary or secondary research.

My guess is that they are basing their report on a press release and maybe an interview or two.
