I went up to Maine for a regional LLL conference and to meet up with one of my comment box regulars. It was great fun and a wonderful antidote to the discouragement I often feel dealing with my usual run of patients. Anyhow, it turns out that a person I saw at the conference was attended in birth by one of my former midwifery students (doing her apprenticeship) and another mama was attended by another of my friends.
It is so fun to say "Tell her hello from me!"
It is also wonderful to see so many babies and toddlers peeking out from within their slings - and to see little girls and boys carrying baby dolls in miniature slings!

Those little slings are so cute! DS1 has worn -- I forget, either a Felix the Cat doll or his Leap Frog or both -- in a grownup Sling-Ezee, of his own initiative.
I like the sling a little better with DS2, which is weird because I'm in worse shape (I think) and DS2 is heavier to the same weight as when I was trying hardest to sling DS1. Then again, I don't push myself, I just wear it once in a while when he's fussy at home or I really need to be able to keep him close and content out of the home. I do hope to become more of a babywearer, but I've just been climbing out of a hole slowly lately.
It was good to see you :)
