You know, I'm glad she's making information on lactational amenorrhea available, but I have to quibble with her statement that LAM and ecological breastfeeding are the same. Ecological breastfeeding involves more intense mother-baby closeness and usually yields a longer stretch of amenorrhea. Mothers relying on LAM can use pacifiers and sleep apart from their babies (as long as they don't go more than six hours without feeding at night) -- and that's part of why they usually have an earlier return of fertility.
