Pray for our culture

The ending sentence tells it all. We've stripped sex of it's mystery. How very sad that this culture has taken the sacred act of intercourse and turned it into something that a boy wants to 'just get over with' as if it were a chore. It occured to me that we all have something to learn about keeping the bedroom sacred from the Orthodox Jew couple.

Yes... sex is no longer sacred... the church just about treats it as sin married or not and the world has made it a commodity. Yet it is a mysterion... a kind of sacrament.

Umm, Havdala, since when has the Church ever treated sex outside of marriage as sin any other time than out of marriage. The Church sees sex as sacred. What you just claimed is probably one of the most ignorant statements ever made by anybody.

I highly doubt most women would allow themselves to be a completely passive, entirely disposable, exclusively sexual object of desire for men the way a porn star is. The artifical, ubiquitous and brutal nature of porn always distorts the porn addict's perception of what is normal. Of course, making that argument to a profligate like Wolf is impossible, since her own private life likely comes close to what is found in soft porn films. Chastity is the root of the problem, as you correctly point out. Theological virtues aside, it allows one to see onself objectively, which many moderns cannot because they are knee-deep in sexual "liberation" (i.e. slavery).
