moved up from the comments box - a birth announcement!

It's a girl! Frances Grace Windsor, born 11:28pm 4 December.

4 pounds, 2.6 ounces
17.5 inches long
Wiggles a lot
Shocking black hair
Likes to disconnect herself from monitors

She's breathing on her own with a little oxygen, but otherwise she seems to be doing well. The doctors think she may be able to come home in 2-3 weeks. Mom's doing well too. She'll come home tomorrow.

Thanks again to everyone....especially our host, whose advice came in handy on more than one occasion.

Oh, yay! I love the name. And she sounds like a pistol. Good for her. And mom and dad, too!

(And yes, Mark, HIATUS--We still want you back!)

Wow! 4 pounds! I remember when my oldest was born, she was about 5 pounds when we brought her home. That first week we were very nervous about how small she was. She 'chunked up' quickly on breastmilk but initially we were both quite anxious.

Congrats to Mark Windor and his wife.

Deo gratias!

(And one of my favorite names...as I was just saying to my own Frances Louise as I read the post.)
